Conflict of Interest & AI Use
Conflict of Interest
- Authors, reviewers and editors should disclose any personal, professional, financial or academic relationship that could reasonably affect, or appear to affect, the handling or interpretation of a submission.
- Editors and reviewers should not participate in decisions where a significant conflict exists.
- The Journal also maintains a separation between funding and editorial decision-making. Publishers or funders do not determine which articles are accepted or rejected.
Use of Generative AI
Generative AI tools may assist research or writing, but they cannot take responsibility for scholarly work.
SJKS therefore requires that:
- Generative systems must not be listed as authors.
- Authors must disclose relevant use of generative tools in analysis, translation or drafting.
- Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content.
- Quotations, citations and translations produced or assisted by AI must be checked against the original source.
- Machine-generated translations, transcriptions or images must be identified where used.
- Confidential manuscripts, peer reviews and restricted community knowledge must not be uploaded to external AI systems.
- Research examining AI systems should identify relevant information about training or evaluation data where known, particularly where restricted community material may be involved.
Fabricated or unverifiable citations are not acceptable.
