Publication Ethics & Research Integrity

SJKS is committed to maintaining high standards of scholarly integrity throughout submission, review and publication.

Authorship & Contributorship

  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a meaningful scholarly contribution and approved the submitted manuscript.
  • Gift, honorary or ghost authorship is not permitted.
  • The Corresponding Author is responsible for communication with the Journal and for ensuring that required declarations and permissions are complete.
  • Any change in authorship after submission should be explained and approved by all authors and the Journal.
  • Multi-author submissions may include an Author Contribution Statement where appropriate.

Originality & Duplicate Publication

  • Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Previously published work used in the manuscript should be appropriately cited.
  • Substantial reuse of an author’s own published material should be disclosed.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication may result in rejection or further editorial action.

Plagiarism & Research Integrity

  • Manuscripts may be subject to similarity and integrity checks as part of the editorial process.
  • Similarity reports are used as indicators and are reviewed by an editor rather than interpreted mechanically.
  • Legitimate overlap in quotations, references, technical terminology and standard textual material is considered in context.
  • Unattributed copying, translated plagiarism, manipulated citations, fabricated material, or image and data manipulation may result in rejection, correction or other editorial action.

Permissions & Ethical Compliance

  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for copyrighted images, tables, figures, extensive quotations or other third-party material where required.
  • Relevant ethics approval and consent should be reported where applicable.
  • Research involving individuals, communities, institutions or knowledge-holders should follow the Journal’s Research Ethics & Knowledge-Holders policy.
  • Required permissions and ethical declarations should be completed before publication.
